About the Role:
As the director of Wesley learning Center WLC, you will play a pivotal role in the overall management and administration of our program. You will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating program services, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and providing leadership and supervision to our dedicated staff. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a nurturing environment that fosters growth, creativity, and community engagement. Responsibilities:
~Oversee the overall management and daily operation of WLC, 8am-3pm.
~Ensure compliance with OEC licensing, NAEYC accreditation, Newtown local health regulations, fire marshal guidelines, and building management standards.
~Manage OEC registry and purchasing of supplies and materials.
~Conduct hiring, interviews, and performance appraisals for staff.
~Supervise and mentor preschool staff, conduct regular meetings, and provide ongoing training and support.
~Oversee and support administrative staff and maintain childrens files, organizing open houses and parent conferences, and scheduling classroom/staff assignments.
~Ensure effective communication with staff parents, and community liaisons, and provide support as needed.
Requirements:
*A Connecticut Directors credential, AND
*An associate degree or higher in early childhood education or child development that include includes nine credits in administration and supervision OR
*An associate degree or higher in an unrelated field with 30 college credits in early childhood education/child development that includes student, teaching and coursework in administration and supervision OR
*30 college credits in early childhood education/child development, including student, teaching and coursework in administration and supervision plus substantial progress toward earning the degree within an expected timeframe.
*Approval by DPH as a head teacher
*Three years of documented supervised experience as Director/or teacher in an accredited early learning education program
*At least two references, business and personal.
*Current first aid and CPR documentation
