Job Title: Mechanical Designer (Mid to Senior Level)
Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Potential Extension)
Location: Wixom, MI 48393 (Onsite)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mid to Senior Level Mechanical Designer with strong automation equipment design experience to join our team in Wixom, MI. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of a Lead Mechanical Engineer to develop detailed assembly drawings and mechanical designs for automated manufacturing systems.
This is not a product design role. Candidates must have experience designing automation equipment, assembly cells, or manufacturing systems, preferably within the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Design automated manufacturing equipment and assembly cells based on engineering concepts and requirements.
Create detailed assembly drawings and mechanical layouts using SolidWorks.
Collaborate closely with Lead Mechanical Engineers to translate concepts into production-ready designs.
Support automation projects for automotive manufacturing environments.
Ensure designs meet project specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Mid to Senior Level Mechanical Design experience.
Strong proficiency with SolidWorks.
Experience creating assembly drawings for automated equipment and machinery.
Background in automation systems, robotic cells, or manufacturing equipment design.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing powertrain assembly systems.
Prior experience supporting GM (General Motors) automation projects.
Automotive manufacturing industry experience.
Work Schedule:
Onsite in Wixom, MI from Monday - Friday between 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
No hybrid or remote option and No travel expenses provided.
