Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Creekstone is searching for college students who are interested in the beef and food manufacturing industry. Each year, Creekstone hosts students for 10-12 weeks for this paid internship with housing included.

Interns will spend their time working on a specific project in a department that has both educational and real business outcomes. At the end of the internship, each participant will prepare a presentation for the Board of Managers to explain their experience, lessons learned, and impact to the business. A mentor will be assigned to each Intern to assist with navigating the beef manufacturing environment and to help give additional support and guidance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan and execute 1 business project, based on direction and support from department manager.
  • Document internship activities during the project and any measurable outcomes.
  • Learn about the beef industry, Creekstone, and the specific department assigned.
  • Create and deliver a presentation, recapping successes and challenges throughout the project.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally at all times.
  • Present as a competent young professional who is focused on their career goals.
  • Self-advocate when additional resources or support are needed.
  • Be punctual and efficient with one’s time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current college student at either a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level
  • Current GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Ability to work well with others, across teams.
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Suite.
  • Superb organizational & time management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions & work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Have an ability to maintain good relationships with others through effective communication.
  • Must possess common sense and sound judgment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Positions may be in office settings and production environments.
  • PPE is required in designated areas, such as hard hat, safety-toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, hair net and beard net if applicable.
  • Various extreme temperature exposure is normal, depending on the department
  • Moderate to loud noises are common in manufacturing environments.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, use both hands and arms to handle, feel, reach, push and pull.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, climb stairs or ladders as needed.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
