Job Overview

JFL is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Annapolis, MD. This is a full-time, exempt position. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and providing technical support for our Aruba and Cisco networks and infrastructure. You will also be responsible for creating and updating network documentation, as well as working on projects to upgrade our communication equipment and procedures. You will coordinate implementations with customers and vendor personnel and act as a knowledge resource for our customers. This position requires occasional off-hours work for repairs, updates, patches, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Aruba and Cisco wireless networking infrastructure
  • Continuing to update and improve network documentation
  • Act as a technical advisor for the customer for wireless and networking infrastructure questions and planning
  • Provide technical and engineering support to the customers
  • Follow, improve, and maintain standard operating procedures and industry standards
  • Manage infrastructure and communication upgrades, other projects, and general maintenance
  • Point of contact for Tier 2 and some Tier 3 escalation tickets
  • Build technical implementation plans that provide integrated solutions including actions, milestones, timelines and critical paths required for complete solutions
  • Participate in internal and client-facing meetings, prepare reports and presentations
  • Build and maintain Network Access Control (NAC) solutions for wired and wireless networks
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of wireless network infrastructure experience, preferably Aruba environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • One of the following certifications or equivalent for DOD 8140 Compliance:
    • CompTIA Security+, GSEC, or CCNA-Security
  • One of the following technical networking certifications:
    • CCNA or HPE Aruba ACA-S
  • Both HPE Aruba ACP-CA and ACP-NS certifications
  • Strong radio frequency (RF) knowledge and proficiency in Aruba Wireless and ClearPass
  • Capable of modeling and plotting Wi-Fi heatmaps for wireless signal strength and coverage
  • Experience with Network Access Control (NAC) solutions for wired and wireless networks
  • Must be willing to be available for off-hours work for repairs, updates, patches, and maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Aruba Clear Pass, Aruba OnGuard and Aruba Switches
  • Prior experience within DoD contract or federal government infrastructure programs
