Job description

As a member of our Wireless Silicon Design group, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to innovate, develop ideas for newer generations of wireless communication protocols, participate in the development of emerging applications and devices, and drive wireless architectures. As a member of the silicon design group, you will be responsible for developing innovative wireless SoC products that are enjoyed by millions of Apple customers!..As a seasoned Wireless MAC Standards Architect, you will be at the forefront of driving and crafting the next generation of media access control (MAC) layer protocols for wireless technologies. Your influence will be felt throughout the standards process as you actively participate in meetings, contribute technically, and champion the company's strategic interests.
In this highly technical role, you will be responsible for crafting new MAC layer ideas and developing innovative proprietary cross-layer algorithms and systems tailored for new and emerging applications. Collaborating closely with internal teams, you will ensure they stay informed about the development and direction of the standards. This collaboration also includes helping them to define features and requirements, develop new insights, and ultimately help them to achieve outstanding performance for products.
BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.Proven track record of participation in wireless standardization organizations, such as IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.15, Bluetooth, UWB, or similar technologies.Familiarity with MAC protocols and algorithms of wireless standards, such as IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.15, Bluetooth SIG, or similar technologies.Knowledge of wireless MAC protocols and algorithms, including channel access, Quality of Service (QoS), power saving, low latency, coexistence, security, and privacy.Experience with modeling and simulations using tools like ns3, OpNet, C/C++, or Python.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to present complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.Self-motivated and passionate about finding innovative solutions to problems.
MSEE or Ph.D. preferred, with a focus on communication systems or signal processing.Experience with MAC modem architecture, algorithms, hardware design, and software design.Experience with PHY/MAC cross-layer algorithm design.Strong and proven leadership abilities.
