Job description

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Wire Transfer Representative to join our team! This position will process all wire transfers for the bank and its customers by means of all incoming, outgoing, and foreign wire requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process all incoming wires from the Fed.
  • Validate and review all outgoing wire requests from the banking centers and line of business partners.
  • Complete wire requests from customers through email and phone calls.
  • Maintain statistics regarding wires received and sent.
  • Monitor and check wire transactions in compliance with OFAC.
  • Monitor wire GL accounts to ensure transactions are clearing timely.
  • Send notification as needed to internal and external customers.
  • Process foreign wires through our agent correspondent.
  • Balance wire activity periodically throughout the day.
  • Research and resolve issues and questions for internal and external customers in a professional and personable manner.

To be successful in this position, we require the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of financial service, customer service, or related processing experience.

The following would be a plus:

  • Wire processing experience
  • Prior banking experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
