Job Description
Resideo is seeking a Tool & Die Technician (Level 2) to join our 1st Shift team to plan, construct, troubleshoot and repair tools, dies, jigs, or gages used to produce various parts in our manufacturing departments internally and externally.
The 1st Shift Tool & Die Maker - Level 2 position pays $44.22/hour. The Tool & Die Maker - Level 2 is also eligible for a $5,000.00 sign-on bonus.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Plan, layout, construct, and repair all types of tools such as dies, fixtures, gages, molds, and special equipment of the highest intricacy, and interchangeability of parts requires the maintenance of extremely close tolerances or fits.
  • Use shop mathematics, trigonometry, and handbook formulas as well as outstanding ingenuity and judgement to construct tools where no design is available.
  • Understand the various grades of steel along with characteristics.
  • Understand concepts of hardening, tempering and annealing techniques of metals.
  • Read complex blueprints, understand industry allowances, diagnose, and perform difficult and advanced tooling techniques on new, existing, or prototype tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical effort required in handling of heavy tools or dies and standing a majority of the shift. Majority of time is spent planning or laying out work and performing machining operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Use of various machines involves some dirt, oil, chips, etc.
  • Long pants, safety shoes, and safety glasses with side shields required
  • Personal Protective Equipment as required according to job duties
  • No drinking or eating in designated areas
  • May be exposed to noise, varying temperatures, dirt and/or chemicals in some areas
  • Employees may be required to successfully complete location specific training to maintain eligibility for position

YOU MUST HAVE:
  • 4+ years of experience in the construction, alteration, and repair of complicated tools, dies, gages, molds, and special equipment.
  • Professional experience operating equipment such as, Wire and Sinker Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM), Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines, and/or lathes

  • The ability to lead a team
