Job description

Air-Lake Machine & Manufacturing
Lakeville, MN Full-time
$32–$38/hr DOE
First Shift

The schedule:
  • Monday–Thursday, 6:00 am–3:30 pm. Friday, 6:00 am–10:00 am.
  • You get a long weekend every week — that's not a typo. We run a 4.5-day week as standard.

What you'll be doing:
We're a precision job shop specializing in low-volume, high-mix custom machining. That means no running the same part day after day. You'll be setting up and running a variety of jobs — repairs, new builds, close-tolerance work — across a full Haas CNC lineup:
  • Haas VF2, VF3 (SSYT 40-taper), VF3 YT, and VF6 (50-taper) vertical mills.
  • Haas ST30 turning centers — both chuck and collet chuck with live tooling.
  • GibbsCAM for programming.

You'll read blueprints, set up your own jobs, select tooling, and hold tight tolerances. If you're the kind of machinist who likes to own a job from first cut to finished part, this is the environment for you.

What we're looking for:
  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience — setup and operation, not just button-pushing.
  • Haas experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with both milling and turning is a plus.
  • Your own tools.
  • A team-first attitude — we're a small shop and everyone's work matters.

What we offer:
  • Pay: $32–$38/hr depending on experience, with a defined path to our senior tier.
  • Schedule: 4.5-day work week, every week.
  • Quarterly bonus program.
  • Health and dental insurance.
  • 401(k).
  • Air-conditioned shop.
  • Family atmosphere — you're not a number here.
  • The variety of work that keeps skilled machinists engaged.

We're growing, and we're looking for machinists who want to grow with us.
Air-Lake Machine & Manufacturing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
