This leadership position is responsible fora team of experts in classification, free trade and country of origin determinations,customsand export operations. You willdriveteamalignment,create strategies tooptimizeduty savings, and managecompliance across our operations.You'llwork closely with business teams to develop and implement effective trade strategies that support our North America supply chain.
You will manage a team ofsubject matter experts and operations professionalsto design, build and execute the strategic direction for trade complianceby:
Process Optimization: Partner withsubject matter experts and operations professionalsto standardize and optimize global trade activities, policies, and procedures.Maintain trade compliance databases and ensure data integrity across systems.
Duty Savingsand Tariff Change Response:Lead initiatives to maximize duty savings through strategic use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs),Duty Drawback, and other duty reduction programs.Monitor regulatory changes and update internal policies accordingly.Analyze transactional trade data to identify risks, trends, and costsavings opportunities.
Audit &Accountability:Lead internal audits, risk assessments, and investigations into potential violations.DevelopanddeliverKPIsand scorecardsto measure program performance,drive continuous improvement,and ensure audit readiness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key partner to internal teams (Supply Chain, Operations, Tax, Legal, Finance) and external partners toalignglobal trade strategies.Establish global frameworks to support participation in government programs (e.g., C-TPAT, AEO).
Strong expertise in HTS and EAR classification, Free Trade Agreements, country of origin rules, and import/export regulations.
Familiarity with related supply chain compliance areas such as bonded warehousing, FTZs, fast-track programs, Dangerous Goods, Responsible Sourcing, Conflict Minerals, Forced Labor, and DOT regulations.
Enterprise-Level Impact & Visibility: Lead and shape the North American trade compliance strategy with direct influence on duty savings, risk mitigation, and supply chain resilience, while partnering closely with senior leaders across Legal, Tax, Finance, and Operations.
Strategic Leadership & Team Building: Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of trade experts, setting the direction for best-in-class compliance programs, process optimization, and continuous improvement across a complex, global organization.
