Job description

Job Summary: The Roll Machine Operator is responsible for lifting steel plates of various sizes using an overhead crane with various lifting clamps, hooks, and chains to position the plate into a CNC roll machine. The operator utilizes a control panel to operate the machine, which rolls the steel plate to flatten or shape it depending on the job requirements. The Roll Operator continually monitors the quality and flatness/shape of the product throughout the process. Essential Functions:
  • Support all TTI/FSS Company and OSHA Safety Policies to ensure they are followed
  • Operate overhead crane to load, unload, and position plate on roll machine
  • Roll product within specified tolerance on drawings
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the foreman or supervisor
  • Accurately document applicable job, product, and quality information utilizing computer and paper documents as required
Additional Duties:
  • Additional responsibilities or duties may be required as needed in support of company operations
Quality Standards
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, codes, and specifications. Will ensure all established fabrication procedures are followed
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and protocols

Teamwork Teamwork is essential in this position and the Plate Roll Machine Operation must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with all departments, managers, and staff.   • High School Diploma
  • 1 year of experience in steel and fabrication facility (preferred)
Language Skills Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with co-workers, other departments, and managers. Reporting Reports to Facility Superintendent with a direct line of communication to the Prefabrication Manager.
