Job description

As a Photomask Process/Equipment Engineer, you will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability and enthusiasm and will possess an attitude that embodies our core values - Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust.
TSMC Arizona's EBO is responsible for EUV and Optical photomask making including leading edge photomask writing, processing, inspection, repair, cleaning and metrology technology.
As a photomask Data Preparation/System Administration Engineer, you will play a critical role in the position involves project management, architecture design, implementation, and operations across various domains, including various server management and maintenance, tapeout service engineering, and mask data preparation engineering. A core focus is on operating, troubleshooting, and continuously improving system servers and mask data preparation processes. The role requires collaboration with internal departments and global teams across time zones, with availability for weekend, holiday, or swing shift duty.
Responsibilities:
  • A key role in the IT operations team, responsible for delivering a modern, efficient, and stable IT workplace for internal users and external users
  • Responsible for project management, architecture design, implementation, and operations in one or more of the following areas:
    • Linux system management and sustain smooth operation of mask data preparation environment
    • New IT architecture design and project management
    • Implement and maintain corporate IT security enhancement activities (IP management, AWL, ACL, Gatekeeper, etc.)
    • Windows, Database (e.g., Oracle, DB2), VMWare and Docker/K8S server management
  • Responsible for operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in the Mask Data Preparation field that includes:
    • Tape-out operation
    • Mask data operation and verification
    • Mask patterns conversion and OPC handling
  • Collaboration with TSMC internal fabs and departments for engineering tasks and new business flow setup
  • Closely work and communicate with EBO engineers cross time zones in Arizona and Taiwan (15 hours ahead of Phoenix, AZ time)
  • Able to work on-duty during weekends or holidays or swing shift

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
    • Education:

A minimum of a Bachelor degree with majors in IT-related fields (Computer Science, Information Engineering, etc.)
    • Technical Skills:
      • Experience in Linux / Windows / Network / VMware / Docker / K8S system management is preferred
      • Certificate in RHCSA / RHCE / CCNA / VCP is a plus
      • Ability to design and execute experiments and interpret complex data.
      • Understanding and application of statistical process control methods.
      • Ability to systematically troubleshoot issues.
    • Interpersonal Skills:
      • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work on cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
      • Ability to adapt priorities and responsibilities to support business needs.
      • A team player who can multitask and thrive in a very dynamic and fast-paced enviornment.
