Windows Server powers millions of mission-critical workloads across datacenters, edge locations, and hybrid environments worldwide.
The Windows Server team is seeking a Principal Product Manager to help define the future of AI infrastructure on Windows Server. You will work closely with enterprise customers, OEMs, silicon and accelerator partners, and Microsoft product teams to identify emerging AI infrastructure needs and translate them into product strategy, roadmap investments, and customer-facing solutions.This role requires a product leader who combines technical depth, customer focus, and strategic thinking to drive innovation across one of Microsoft's most important infrastructure platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Lead customer engagement strategies, including executive briefings, technical workshops, advisory forums, and design-partner programs.
  • Gather customer, partner, market, and competitive insights and translate them into product strategy, requirements, success metrics, and roadmap priorities.
  • Partner across Microsoft to align plans with developer tools, applications, cloud, security, management, and platform teams.
  • Develop a strong perspective on enterprise AI infrastructure, inference workloads, deployment models, hardware trends, and competitive offerings.
  • Drive cross-organizational alignment, influence senior stakeholders, and communicate recommendations through clear strategy documents and executive presentations.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience leading enterprise platform, infrastructure, cloud, or distributed systems products with direct customer or partner engagement.
  • Experience with AI inference platforms, products, services, or related AI infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience translating complex technical and business requirements into product strategy, roadmaps, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience influencing engineering and business teams across multiple organizations.
  • Deep experience in AI/ML inference, model serving, developer platforms, distributed systems, datacenter infrastructure, cloud, edge, or on-premises environments.
  • Experience working with OEMs, silicon or accelerator providers, ISVs, systems integrators, or other ecosystem partners.
  • Demonstrated success leading customer advisory, pilot, preview, or design-partner programs.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
