ValidaTek is seeking a reliable and skilled Mid-Level Systems Administrator to support the Cybersecurity Systems Support (CSS) contract with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and security of enterprise systems in a high-security DoD environment. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical foundation, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to support secure and stable IT infrastructure. This is a 100% on-site role located in Pensacola, FL.

Shift: Monday - Friday 0700 - 1500

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and support Microsoft Windows Server environments, performing system administration, monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable operations.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), DNS, and DHCP services to support enterprise infrastructure requirements.
  • Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL databases and IIS (Internet Information Services) web servers.
  • Configure, administer, and maintain enterprise virtualization and application delivery leveraging Citrix Xen Server, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and Citrix Gateway.
  • Harden operating systems and applications by strictly applying DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and adhering to NIST risk management frameworks.
  • Perform system monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • Provide supplementary administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Linux-based systems within the enterprise environment.
  • Apply foundational networking knowledge to assist in troubleshooting connectivity, routing, and switching issues in coordination with network engineering teams.
Qualifications
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field OR equivalent hands-on experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) - required.
  • Mid-Level (Typically 3 to 5+ years of dedicated systems administration experience in an enterprise environment).
  • Extensive hands-on background and technical proficiency with Microsoft Windows enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrable functional knowledge of Linux command-line administration and basic network topologies.
  • Working knowledge of STIG compliance, RMF, and security best practices.
  • Experience with system management and monitoring tools (e.g., SCCM, SolarWinds, PowerShell scripting).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a secure, structured environment.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vendor certifications such as MCSA, RHCSA, or VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
  • Familiarity with eMASS, HBSS, ACAS, or Splunk.
  • Understanding of ITIL practices, including change and configuration management.
  • Experience supporting DoD or classified information systems.
