MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented VMware Virtualization Systems Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.
This role supports the engineering, administration, and modernization of the Sponsor's virtualization infrastructure. You will leverage your technical expertise to maintain enterprise-grade infrastructure virtualization and end-user computing solutions deployed across the environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Build, configure, monitor, upgrade, and troubleshoot environments using the VMware vCenter server running VMware ESXi hosts for versions 8.0.
  • Create, configure, and manage virtual desktop environments by building, deploying, and maintaining desktop pools within Omnissa Horizon View Server version 8.0.
  • Monitor desktop health, troubleshoot pool issues, and manage how the Horizon View Server interacts with the vCenter Server.
  • Build, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot the VMware Unified Access Gateway (UAG) in conjunction with the Horizon View Server.
  • Load hypervisor software, configure the BIOS, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot HPE hardware, specifically ProLiant DL360 G10, G11, and Synergy Servers.
  • Administrate and engineer Microsoft Windows Server OS (Versions 2019 and 2022) and Workstation OS (Windows 11) on both virtual and physical hosts.
  • Maintain system baselines and hardware configuration management items using HPE iLO for out-of-band management of physical servers.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in Information Systems and/or systems engineering.
  • Significant technical experience building, deploying, and upgrading VMware vSphere (vCenter Server and ESXi hypervisor hosts).
  • Demonstrated experience engineering and managing virtual desktop infrastructure using Omnissa Horizon View Server and desktop pools.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining the VMware Unified Access Gateway (UAG) for secure authentication.
  • Experience inventorying, patching, upgrading, and troubleshooting physical hardware, specifically HPE ProLiant and Synergy Servers.
  • Experience creating and maintaining complex infrastructure documentation for virtual machines, live migration (vMotion), and distributed workloads.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP certification) or relevant VMware certifications.
  • Understanding of storage arrays and networking that integrates with VMware virtual infrastructure.
  • Experience operating and monitoring environments using VMware Aria Operations.
  • Technical proficiency or familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Self-starter with excellent people skills - able to work across teams to troubleshoot infrastructure and drive virtualization solutions throughout an organization.

Clearance Requirements:
  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required for this position.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and physical server hardware.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering technical presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $128,000.00-$214,400.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
