Job description

The Resort Maintenance position at Drummond Island Resort is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and attractive resort facilities by performing general maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, painting, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Basic Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
Painting the interior and exterior of buildings, guestrooms, cabins and public areas
Maintains the cleanliness of resort grounds
Performs routine maintenance on refrigeration, plumbing and mechanical systems
Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
Available evenings and weekends to handle emergency calls
Address guest concerns in a timely and courteous manner
Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities, working closely with the Housekeeping Department
Snow removal from walkways and public areas
General grounds maintenance, including mowing, string trimming, etc.
Roof repairs and exterior window cleaning
Other related duties as assigned
Assist and guide guests with Recreation activities
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
