Responsibilities:

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Perform exhaust system repairs and replacement.
Perform four-wheel alignments and suspension adjustments (training available).
Diagnose drivability concerns using scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
Perform brake inspections and repairs, including pads, rotors, calipers, drums, and hydraulic components.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
• Ability to work effectively with computerized systems
• Results-oriented
• Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre (asset)
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR (asset)
