Job description

Property Owner looking for an Apartment Maintenance Tech to join our team for our properties in Columbus. The optimal fit for this position will make customer service a top priority while efficiently and correctly completing work orders. Job Requirements
Must have basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, and rough and finish carpentry skills.

Knowledgeable with common work order repair issues found in apartments and homes.

Ability to diagnose problems and determine what repair/replacement is correct and efficient.

Strong communication skills and ability to complete work proficiently a must.

Ability to work a smart phone and comfortable working with property management software to review work orders that are assigned, enter time for work orders and mark work orders with status updates.
Needs hand tools and vehicle (preferable truck or van).
Minimum 2 years maintenance experience required.

HVAC certification/HVAC experience a plus.

Availability for on call

Maintain a record of acceptable punctuality and attendance

Physical requirement for frequent lifting of a min. of 50lbs., frequent stopping, standing, climbing, etc.

Driver’s license
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and daily maintenance of the properties.

Daily duties include responding to work orders and completing unit turnovers.
Repair window screens, hinges, door handles and locks (replace as needed), and closet doors.
Unit turnover work

Repair sinks, bathtubs and showers including repairs to sink plugs, drains, supply line connections and faucets
HVAC- change furnace filters, and help with upkeep of system

Drywall repair and possible touch up painting
Keep grounds clean and free of debris

Maintain a positive relationship with residents and vendors

On call required to respond to emergency maintenance issues (emergencies are no heat, plumbing leaks where active water running, stopped up toilet when only 1 in unit, gas odor/leak, securing a premises, other emergencies deemed so by management)

Compensation based on experience.
