Window Caulking information

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Window caulking is typically an hourly-paid trade that rarely reaches $4,000 weekly without significant experience or overtime. High-paying jobs that can reach this level without a degree include skilled trades like commercial roofing, elevator installation, or certain construction management roles, often requiring specialized skills, certifications, or union membership. These jobs usually involve physical work, apprenticeships, or on-the-job training rather than formal college degrees.

How much does a handyman charge to caulk windows?

A handyman typically charges between $50 and $150 per window for caulking, depending on the window size, number of windows, and local labor rates. The job usually involves cleaning the area, applying the caulk, and ensuring a proper seal, often requiring basic tools and skills in sealing and weatherproofing.

Do window installers caulk?

Yes, window installers typically caulk around window frames to seal gaps, improve energy efficiency, and prevent water infiltration. Caulking is a standard part of the installation process and requires knowledge of proper techniques and materials. Proper caulking ensures the durability and performance of the window installation.

How to get a caulking job?

To get a caulking job, gain experience in construction or maintenance work, develop skills in sealing and surface preparation, and consider obtaining relevant certifications such as OSHA safety training. Building a portfolio or references can also improve job prospects, and many positions require physical fitness and the ability to work in various environments.

Job description

Take Your Career to the Next Level with Houston Window Experts!

Company Overview:  The Window Experts are a Houston-based window company that values what our clients value—honesty, integrity, doing what's right as promised and doing it at a fair price.

With over 14 years of experience in the home improvement industry, our crews are well aware of what it takes to honor our values. We work hard to install our windows in a way that interrupts your life as little as possible. We make every effort to be neat, tidy, and on time—and clean up after ourselves as we go. Our goal is to treat each client and project like we're helping out our own family. We're committed to clear communication, a positive attitude, thorough workmanship, and timely completion.

Role Overview:

The Window Experts seek a motivated, detail-oriented Install Crew Member to join our expanding DFW team and deliver high-quality residential window and door installations. Working as part of a dedicated crew, you will execute the daily installation process—from site preparation and home protection to the precise removal and installation of products—ensuring every project meets TWE's standards for craftsmanship and professionalism. You will play a vital role in translating project plans into flawless execution while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient job site.

This is a high-impact, physically active role for a dependable professional with a background in construction who is eager to master the window installation trade and contribute to a team focused on first-time install success and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage morning logistics, including the disposal of debris from previous projects and the strategic loading and securing of products and materials to ensure safe transport.
  • Implement comprehensive "home protection" protocols upon arrival to safeguard client property and maintain TWE's reputation for cleanliness and care.
  • Execute the systematic removal of existing units and the precision installation of new windows and doors under the direction of the Crew Lead.
  • Perform high-standard finish work, including expert caulking and detailing, to ensure a weather-tight seal and aesthetic excellence.
  • Pivot between specialized roles on the crew as assigned by the Crew Lead to optimize workflow and meet daily production goals.

Role Requirements:

  • Previous experience in either residential or commercial construction.
  • A basic understanding of construction fundamentals is required.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license.
  • Experience in specialized fields such as roofing, siding, or concrete is highly valued.

Logistics:

  • This position is based on-site in Fort Worth, Texas, with daily travel to various residential project locations throughout the DFW area.
  • A company vehicle and/or gas reimbursement will be provided for travel between the warehouse and job sites.
  • All candidates must possess a valid Texas driver's license and successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
  • This is a physically demanding, outdoor role requiring the ability to handle heavy materials and work efficiently in various weather conditions.
