Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role you'll be responsible for the construction, commissioning, and/or maintenance of Siemens Gamesa and/or Senvion wind turbines at one of our potential Wind Turbine sites in the US. Although this position will have a home wind farm site, it will also be part of a mobile team that supports other sites as needed. Provide excellent service to our customers, analyze and react to people in stressful hazardous situations.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Contribute to the improvement of new and updated field procedures and standard methodologies
  • Able to work inside the wind turbine enclosure at an elevated height of 300 feet.
  • Ability to think clearly and maintain composure during stressful and hazardous situations is critical to success in the position.
  • Physical requirements of the job include but not limited to: Ladder climbing minimum 267 steps, up stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.
  • Capable of efficiently taking on additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm.
What You Bring
• High school diploma or equivalent is required along with 2 or more years' experience. A College degree or equivalent competency in a field related to the work of a wind farm technician ie: electrical / mechanical systems is desirable. Various combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. Large corrective experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment. Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by the safety regulations. Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position
• Strong ability to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation, ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.
• Hands experience working with electrical systems including PLC programming and converters.
• Experience interacting with customers at various levels of responsibility within their respective organizations.
• Traveling (up to 95%) to customer sites within and outside the US is a requirement of the job. Must be eligible to hold a valid Passport and Driver's License.
