Job description

Crystal Springs Resort is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and presentation of Wild Turkey and Cascades Golf Courses while supporting maintenance of the Crystal Springs Country Club and Grand Cascades Lodge irrigation systems. This role focuses on delivering exceptional golf course conditions and maintaining critical property infrastructure while assisting in the supervision of golf course agronomic operations. The position will work closely with the Superintendent in delivering high-quality golf and Resort facility standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Golf Course & Property Operations

  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing Wild Turkey and Cascades Golf Courses to ensure exceptional playing conditions and presentation standards
  • Support operation and maintenance of the Crystal Springs Country Club and Grand Cascades Lodge irrigation systems
  • Monitor and maintain golf course and property irrigation systems, identifying repairs and coordinating maintenance needs
  • Support operation and maintenance of the Crystal Springs Country Club and Grand Cascades Lodge water feature systems
  • Assist with landscaping and presentation standards for clubhouse surroundings and guest-facing areas as needed
    Ensure overall property appearance aligns with Crystal Springs Resort standards

Turf & Agronomic Support

• Execute turf maintenance tasks including daily mowing, trimming, grooming, and general course upkeep
• Maintain irrigation systems with support from Superintendents
• Inspect golf courses daily and identify disease, pest activity, irrigation concerns, and other forms of turf stress
• Communicate issues and priorities with Superintendent
• Assist with fertility programs and cultural practices including aerification, topdressing, and turf health initiatives
• Assist with basic equipment maintenance and coordinate repair services with Superintendent
• Monitor conditions and communicate issues proactively

Leadership & Collaboration

• Supervise and assist in training golf course maintenance staff
• Perform daily scheduling, task management, and quality control
• Ensure adherence to safety and operational standards
• Partner with Golf Operations, Facilities, and Resort teams to support overall property needs

Equipment & Inventory

• Assist in managing equipment, materials, and supplies
• Coordinate basic maintenance and ensure proper use of tools and products

Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of experience in turf management, agronomy, irrigation systems, or golf course maintenance
• Knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and agronomic practices
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to property presentation
• Leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, weekends, and holidays
• Valid driver’s license (pesticide license preferred or ability to obtain)
