Our primary goal is to recognize and appreciate the fact that each individual guest is the most important person in the world while dining at the Angus Barn. Bar Staff are a vital link in providing our guests with a memorable dining experience exceeding expectations. Bar Staff positions include but not limited to service bars, swing (bar back), run wine and private party bar(s). It is essential that each Bar Staff member has a pleasant personality and smile; even temperament and enjoys working with the public; have good grooming and hygiene habits; and is efficient and accurate when performing their duties.
Bar Staff members must be willing to be trained in an approximate 3-week training program.
Bar Staff mixes drinks from our drink recipes, using our glass preference and accommodates guest's special requests (with-in North Carolina regulations). Bar Staff will be trained in responsible alcohol service.
Bar Staff may be required to handle dinner checks and cash them out. They will be responsible for the balance of a cash drawer.
Bar Staff stock bars, prep drink garnishes and has closing cleaning duties. Bar Staff requires the lifting of kegs of beer, cases of wine, racks of glassware; therefore, needs to be able to lift a minimum of 50 lb. (Short lifts of 150 lbs. - kegs.)
Bar Staff procure wine from the wine cellar, which includes the use of 2 flights of stairs.
Bar Staff must occasionally be able to report to work earlier than usual. (i.e. recycling pick-up, inventory, menu changes, wine classes, luncheons, private functions, general cleaning days, staff meetings and/or 'All Hands on Deck Days')
Bar Staff must be willing to assist in other duties. Bar Staff may be asked to valet, be a cocktail server and/or a banquet server when needed.
