Description

A bar supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Wild Bill's Tobacco bar. They are responsible for driving sales, managing inventory and pour costs, ensuring compliance with local liquor and safety laws, and hiring, training, and scheduling staff to deliver exceptional customer service.ย 

This is a key, visible role that is the face of Wild Bill's Tobacco in the community and bridges the gap between customer service and behind the scenes operation.


Key Responsibilities

Financial & Inventory Management

  • Monitor sales trends and manage the budget to maximize profitability.
  • Track pour costs, handle cash reconciliation, and prevent shrinkage.
  • Manage stock levels, place orders with suppliers, and negotiate favorable deals.ย 

Staff Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and schedule bartenders and barbacks.
  • Delegate tasks, set performance expectations, and motivate the team during peak hours.
  • Handle performance reviews, shift coverage, and conflict resolution.ย 

Operations & Customer Experience

  • Maintain a welcoming, clean, and organized bar environment.
  • Curate and update drink menus, recipes, and promotional events.
  • Diffuse tense customer situations and ensure a safe, fun atmosphere.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure strict compliance with local liquor laws, health codes, and age-verification procedures.
  • Maintain all necessary beverage and food safety licenses.ย 


Requirements

  • Experience: 2-5 years of progressive bartending or hospitality management experience.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of mixology, beer, and spirits.
  • Certifications: Valid alcohol service certifications (like TIPS).ย 
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving, basic business math, and the ability to stand and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Vendor Relationships: Develop and maintain vendor relationships within the Wild Bill's Tobacco brand including liquor, beer, cigars, and any other bar or retail merchants.
  • Event Management: Plan and execute periodic events in the name of Wild Bill's Tobacco including off-site and in house experiences.ย ย 
  • Brand Representative: To promote Wild Bill's Tobacco Westland in the community and social media while shaping the positive perception of Wild Bill's Tobacco core values.
