Job description

Tire Technician
Job Summary
Repairs and replaces tires.
General Accountabilities
Identifies and inflates tires correctly for the size and ply.
Unbolts wheels from vehicles and remove them.
Locates punctures in tires.
Seals punctures in tires by inserting adhesive material and expanding rubber
plugs into punctures.
Inspects tire casings for defects.
Replaces valve stems and removes puncturing objects.
Reassembles tires onto wheels.
Places wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to
balance wheels.
Hammers required counterweights onto rims of wheels.
Remounts wheels onto vehicles.
Rotates tires to different positions on vehicles.
