Position Purpose

This position is responsible for performing standard wet paint and paint touch up on SSL machines.

 Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
  • Perform labor operations such as loading/unloading of the paint line using the manipulators or forklifts
  • Operate hand tools to demask product
  • Properly prep, mask and wet paint machines and parts.
  • Apply Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques to improve inspection methods
  • Apply Problem Solving Tools and Techniques to assist Manufacturing in the elimination of defects
  • Other duties as assigned
 Nature & Scope

Reports to Manufacturing Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable.
  • High school diploma
  • One year of painting experience
  • Experience with a forklift
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of painting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Forklift certification required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
  • Knowledge and ability to operate a forklift
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a sense of urgency
  • Flexibility with work activities; available for overtime
  • Ability to operate pneumatic or various hand tools and forklift or other equipment as needed
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, including but not limited to 12-hour shifts

  • Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities.  These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
  • Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
  • Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
  • Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
