Description
The Associate Attorney will support and manage matters from initial intake and pre-litigation through litigation and resolution. This role requires strong legal analysis, organization, and the ability to move cases forward efficiently while maintaining excellent client service and communication.
Responsibilities
• Manage and support cases from pre-litigation through litigation, settlement, and resolution
• Oversee pre-litigation case development, including file review, claim evaluation, and strategy
• Draft and review legal documents, including correspondence, demands, pleadings, motions, discovery, and agreements
• Conduct legal research using tools such as Clio Works, Westlaw, and LexisNexis
• Communicate with clients regarding case status, expectations, and settlement progress
• Work with internal teams to ensure proper documentation, record collection, and file readiness
• Assist in transitioning cases from pre-litigation to litigation when necessary
• Prepare for and participate in EUOs, depositions, mediations, hearings, and negotiations
• Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement opportunities; participate in negotiations to resolve matters efficiently
• Review and approve settlement terms, releases, and closing documents as needed
• Ensure compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements across all stages
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case handling
• Maintain accurate and organized case files throughout the case lifecycle
Qualifications
• Active Bar license (required)
• 2+ years of experience in litigation and/or pre-litigation preferred
• Strong understanding of case development, negotiation, and litigation processes
• Experience handling client communications and case strategy
• Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
