Duties and Responsibilities
It is expected that the duties and responsibilities of this position will be performed in a manner that reflects the values of Wellstar Health System.
- Participates in development of the vision, strategy, and plan to ensure an integrated lab and pathology operation throughout the Wellstar Health System.
- Leads the development and deployment of infrastructure and processes to respond to ordering/referring provider, patient, and hospital needs, as well as taking the lead in implementation of the measurement and management tools used to enhance care delivery excellence.
- Creates structure and processes to ensure consistency of physician services and outcomes across the practice within the Health System.
- Serves as the main communication channel between the pathologists and the other constituents of the hospital and health system, including Wellstar Medical Group, Wellstar Community Partners, Service Line Leadership, and Hospital and Health System Leadership.
- Leads in the development of service agreements between the pathology, lab teams and key specialty services.
- Leads the recruitment process and onboarding for pathology providers.
- Assists in budget development and resource allocations to include optimal staffing levels that are both cost effective and clinically safe.
- Participates in patient care and clinical activities to maintain professional competency and credibility up to a 0.5 FTE.
- Performs other functions as required.
