Job description

Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified General Cardiologist with Structural Imaging fellowship training to join our multi sub-specialty Cardiology group to provide complex cardiovascular care and structural heart imaging support at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, about 45 minutes northwest of Atlanta.

Ideal candidates must be fellowship trained in both Cardiovascular Disease and Structural Imaging.

Wellstar Center for Cardiovascular Care is the largest and most comprehensive provider of cardiovascular services in northwest Georgia.  The Wellstar Cardiac Network includes 11 hospitals and 30+ office locations throughout metro Atlanta.  With over 90 physicians and 80+ APPs, our team provides care for the entire spectrum of cardiac patients from surgery, structural heart, EP, advanced imaging, complex intervention, all modalities of mechanical circulatory support including ECMO and advanced heart failure. We also have a very comprehensive research program offering significant opportunities.

Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center is a level 1 trauma center with just under 700 beds and proudly provides world-class Cardiology care as a Level 1 emergency Cardiac care center and the large ECCC network in Georgia. Known for being in the top 10% for coronary artery bypass surgery outcomes, given joint commission's 'gold seal certification' for coronary artery bypass, heart valve repair and replacement and heart failure among many other accolades. Kennestone has a dedicated CVOR and cardiac Cath lab as well as a cutting edge cardiac hybrid operating room for structural heart procedures, a 12-bed CVICU, and an 18-bed CICU.

Our Structural Heart and Valve Program was the first in Georgia and the fourth in the nation to receive the highest certification in cardiovascular care - the Comprehensive Care Center Certification by the Joint Commission and the American Heart Association.  Our Structural Heart and Valve Program is a patient-centered approach, providing care for people with advanced and complex structural heart problems, in a multidisciplinary team setting that includes cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, advanced imaging cardiologists and cardiac anesthesiologists.
