Position: 1.0 FTE PE/Wellness Teacher (Split)

Starting Date: Commencement of the 2026-2027 school year

Har-Bur Middle School & Lewis Mills High School are looking for a dynamic and engaging Health/PE & Wellness teacher to join a team of driven and innovative educators. The Wellness department in Region 10 is a collaborative and collegial group of educators who strive to instill a love for physical activity, living a healthy life, and improving/maintaining their overall quality of life. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their own knowledge, expertise, and ideas to the table. An ideal wellness teacher in Region 10 is someone who creates engaging lessons around the areas of health and physical literacy and employs a variety of instructional strategies to help students be successful learners. The candidate must also have extensive knowledge of and appreciation for the health, exercise, and wellness field. Ā We value collaboration on problems of practice and frequently work together to brainstorm solutions to unique problems or patterns that arise. Our team of wellness teachers have the opportunity to meet several times weekly in a wellness teacher PLC, and there are several professional learning opportunities throughout the year. Qualifications:Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā 

The ideal candidate will hold the following certification and have in-depth knowledge and experience in a combination of the areas below:Ā 

  • CT Endorsement 043 Health certification

  • CT Endorsement 044 Physical Education certification

  • Microsoft Office 365 (specifically OneNote, Teams, etc.) (preferred)

  • CPR, First Aid, AED Instructor certification (preferred)
