Superintendent CWI - Houston, TX
About the Role
Join Equinor's dynamic team in Houston, TX as a Superintendent CWI, providing vital leadership for Workover & Intervention (W&I) operations supporting both onshore and offshore projects. This high-impact, office-based position offers the opportunity to oversee complex well programs, drive operational excellence, and support site visits to Louisiana and offshore rigs-approximately two trips monthly. Play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operations in collaboration with clients, product lines, and third parties.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise offshore Workover & Intervention activities, ensuring safe and efficient execution of well programs
- Support Plug & Abandonment (P&A) projects and drive continuous improvement in operational delivery
- Make critical, independent operational decisions in real time to manage risk and project success
- Serve as the central point of communication between wellsite, product lines, and third-party vendors
- Coordinate operational activities, audits, and site visits to ensure readiness and compliance
- Drive improvement in HSE processes, monitor project execution, and recommend performance changes
- Oversee operational productivity, cost control, resource planning, and quality assurance
- Participate in pre-job planning, kickoff meetings, and the selection of service companies and equipment
- Mentor, train, and develop Wellsite Supervisors and field teams
Required Skills and Experience
- 5-10+ years' experience as Superintendent in Workover & Intervention operations
- Strong operational background in offshore operations, including workover, well intervention, and risk management
- Well Control Certification (required for offshore/Gulf of Mexico operations)
- Proven leadership, decision-making, and team management skills
- Experience in supervising well operations and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication and client-focused mindset
Preferred Skills
- Plug & Abandonment (P&A) project experience
- Additional offshore platform and drilling experience
- Offshore safety certifications
