Job description

We are seeking a qualified Calibration Technician to join our team at Cal-Labs, an Accredited Labs company. Our calibration technicians are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of calibrating various dimensional measuring devices and instruments. The ideal candidate comes from a mechanical or technical background with calibration experience and exposure to calibration procedures.
Location:
On-site in La Mirada, CA
Essential Functions:

  • Complete accurate and timely calibrations in our lab, with the possibility of an occasional on-site calibration, in accordance with ISO 17025.
  • Primary discipline is Dimensional, which includes calipers, micrometers, thread plugs and rings, cylindrical plugs and rings, etc.
  • Follow documented calibration procedures, work instructions, and quality system requirements.
  • Accurately record calibration data and results in the calibration management system.
  • Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and communicate findings per company procedures.
  • Meet productivity, scheduling, and turnaround time expectations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years' experience as a calibration technician with Dimensional calibration experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, specifications and drawings.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn mechanical and technical skills quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, climb, kneel and stand for long periods of time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Good customer service, organizational and prioritization skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of principles, procedures, methods and techniques in metrology gained through education or professional experience.
  • Metrology experience.
  • Associate's Degree, Technical Degree or Certificate in Engineering or other Technical Field.
  • Military PMEL Training.
  • Experience with IndySoft.
