Overview / Responsibilities

 Wood is currently working for a Workover/Completions Specialist III in Houston Texas to work within a Wood Client company office. This a contract position with possible opportunity for extension.  The Completion and Workover Engineer II,  will be a member of the Client's Drilling, Completion & Workover team at the company's Houston office reporting to the Completions & Workover Engineering Manager. This role will primarily support the completions group.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

Develop step-by-step procedures to achieve specified well objectives safely and efficiently. Procedures will incorporate engineering controls, provide guidance on well control equipment and practices, and complying with company safety regulations and standards. Generate cost estimates and AFEs by GL codes associated with planned work scopes. Conduct historical well review to support procedural recommendations. Engage with other functions and asset leadership to manage process execution discrepancies & scope changes. Develop and monitor KPI reporting of frac and coiled tubing unit operations with respect to spend, delivery of planned objectives, and scheduling (planned vs actuals). Manage expenditures and performance relative to AFE'd budgets and communicate variances. Perform post treatment analysis on production/injection results. Utilize PDCA cycle to recommend and improve completion execution effectiveness & efficiency

Skills / Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Experience in Engineering with 8 years E&P company experience in unconventional engineering
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience developing unconventional completion procedures with a technical competency in completion (pumping) operations. Completions support is the primary function of this job (supporting frac crew from office via procedures and report creation).
  • Ideal candidate will also have production or well intervention experience that includes writing procedures to workover producing wells with lift equipment including rod pump, ESP, or gaslift. (secondary function if experienced)
  • Working knowledge of downhole tools and equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computer software: Microsoft Suite, Wellview, and Spotfire
  • Ability to work flexible work schedule, including long and/or irregular hours
