Job description

Process & Utility Piping – Superintendent

ABOUT ARMI

Since 2003, our family-owned business has specialized in process and utility piping, expanding into multiple business units over the years. We now offer nationwide services in Process & Utility Piping, Process Equipment & Installation, Thermal Fluid, and Industrial HVAC. As industry leaders, we maintain elite standards by hiring top talent. ARMI is known for work safety, meeting deadlines, quality production, and staying within budget. We believe in reinvesting in our people and supporting the local community—because we succeed together.

THE ROLE

As Superintendent, you own the jobsite from pre-mobilization through punch list. You design the production layout, structure the crews, set the pace, and eliminate bottlenecks before they cost us hours. You report to the Project Manager and work alongside a tight-knit field team.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Production system design — zoning, crew deployment, material flow, equipment placement
  • Jobsite setup 2–3 days before crews ramp — you build the system they work inside
  • Day 1–5 execution: setting expectations, pace, and standards that carry the whole job
  • Daily and weekly production targets — and holding foremen accountable to hitting them
  • Safety enforcement, field reporting, schedule management, and client communication
  • Mentoring and developing foremen and tradesmen under your leadership
  • Coordinating with the PM II on material deliveries, equipment, and procurement timing
  • Change order identification in the field — you spot scope changes and communicate them to the PM II before extra work begins
  • Punch list ownership — you drive the project to full completion, not just substantial completion
  • Continuous improvement — identifying jobsite inefficiencies and bringing solutions, not just problems

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years of verifiable field experience in process and utility piping construction
  • Proven track record running multi-crew jobs from setup through completion
  • Strong working knowledge of pipe systems, welding, fitting, and field safety
  • Experience with Procore or similar project management software
  • DOT certified and able to travel to project sites as needed
  • Strong technical knowledge of process systems, FDA, USDA, 3-A sanitary welding, and industrial installations a plus
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Travel required – projects are coast to coast and vary in duration
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on project needs
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
