This role is designed for individuals who are eager to grow within the welding industry and advance into higher-level welding and fabrication positions.We are looking for dependable team members with a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to quality and safety.Position SummaryThe Junior Welder is responsible for performing entry-level welding and fabrication tasks while supporting production operations. This position will assist with GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and FCAW-G (Flux Cored Arc Welding - Gas Shielded) processes, material preparation, assembly support, and basic fabrication duties under the guidance of experienced team members and supervisors.The ideal candidate has foundational welding knowledge, understands basic welding safety and machine setup, and is motivated to continue developing technical and production skills.ResponsibilitiesPerform basic GMAW welding on metal components and assembliesAssist with FCAW-G welding operations as neededRead and follow basic work instructions and production drawingsPrepare materials for welding and fabricationGrind, clean, and finish welded partsAssist with fitting and alignment of parts and assembliesOperate welding machines and basic fabrication equipment safelyMaintain clean and organized work areasFollow company quality standards and production schedulesInspect welds visually for basic defects and consistencySupport senior welders and fabrication team membersFollow all safety procedures and PPE requirementsWelding & Fabrication SkillsBasic GMAW welding knowledge requiredFamiliarity with FCAW-G welding processes preferredAbility to perform tack welds and simple weld passesBasic understanding of weld penetration and bead appearanceFamiliarity with measuring tools and fabrication equipmentAbility to learn welding parameters and machine settingsBasic understanding of blueprints or shop drawings preferredTools & Equipment UsedGMAW welding machinesFCAW-G welding equipmentGrinders and finishing toolsDrills and sawsTape measures and layout toolsClamps and fabrication fixturesHand and power toolsQualificationsWelding school, technical training, or equivalent welding experience preferredBasic GMAW welding experience requiredAbility to work in a manufacturing and fabrication environmentStrong willingness to learn and improve welding skillsAbility to follow instructions and work within a team environmentGood attendance and reliabilityPositive attitude and strong work ethicBilingual in English and Spanish preferredPreferred QualificationsRecent welding school graduates encouraged to applyBasic FCAW-G welding experience is a plusPrevious shop or manufacturing experience preferredAbility to read basic blueprints is a plusExperience using fabrication tools and equipment preferredCompensationStarting pay: $19/hourFull-time position40 hours per weekOvertime opportunities available depending on workloadHands-on training providedOpportunity for growth within the companyPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to lift up to 70 lbs regularlyAbility to bend, kneel, push, pull, and work in a physically demanding environmentAbility to work safely around machinery and welding equipmentWork EnvironmentThis position works inside a metal fabrication and manufacturing facility.
