What is a welder and fitter?

Welders and Fitters are skilled tradespeople who join and assemble metal parts using welding techniques and tools. Welders primarily focus on fusing metal pieces together, while Fitters prepare, position, and align components before welding takes place. These professionals are essential in industries like construction, manufacturing, shipbuilding, and automotive repair. They must read blueprints, follow safety procedures, and ensure the structural integrity of the finished product.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a welder and fitter?

To thrive as a Welder and Fitter, you need strong technical skills in welding techniques, blueprint reading, and metal fabrication, typically supported by a high school diploma and relevant welding certifications.
