*POSTED FOR AFTERNOON AND WEEKEND SHIFTS*

POSITION SUMMARY: Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.

Typical Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Occasionally requires working irregular hours.

Typical Working Conditions: Position is in office environment and may require automobile travel to branches, training, seminars or workshops. Bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs, verbal communication, hearing, seeing, 40% keyboard input, some sitting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention
  • Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships
  • Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA
  • Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues
  • Receive member payments by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits
  • Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services
  • Will have Key Carrier responsibilities ensuring the Branch opens on-time and closes on-time per posted schedule
  • Accepts and demonstrates the Character Development Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility
  • Actively participates and supports the annual scholarship campaign.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Certifications required within 60 days of hire: CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid
  • One to three years’ related experience and/or training
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
