Facility in Pendleton, OR seeking Lucrative General Surgery locums coverage Rates: Orientation $150/hr (typically 3-8 hour long), Hourly $300/hr, Nightly Call $600 - Per night call to hold the pager, to include 2.5 hours gratis, On Call (Daily) $2000 - Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis, Call Back $325/hr hour of patient contact hours, after gratis hours are completed, Holiday 1.5x the regular rates, Average worked Callback Hours: Weekday: 7.8 hours; Weekend: 6.7 hours Opportunity Highlights
  • Start Date: As soon as credentialed.
  • Duration: Up to one year (7-10 block schedule preferred).
  • Location: Pendleton, OR (Regional acute care hospital and clinic).
  • Schedule: Monday Friday clinic/OR (8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.) with 24-hour call.
  • Acuity: 500 surgeries per year (75% outpatient); 10 surgeries per week.
  • Support: Full hospital staff and clinic support (MA/RN).
  • EMR: Meditech (Hospital) and eCW (Clinic).
Clinical Responsibilities & Typical Schedule The surgeon is responsible for outpatient clinic, scheduled surgeries, inpatient consultations, and emergency/trauma surgery.
  • Monday: Clinic (14-16 patients) + 24-hour Call.
  • Tuesday/Thursday: OR (Morning) + Clinic (Afternoon) + 24-hour Call.
  • Wednesday/Friday: Full Day OR + 24-hour Call.
  • Weekend: 24-hour Call (Saturday/Sunday).
Required Procedures:
  • Endoscopy: Diagnostic and Screening Colonoscopies, Diagnostic EGD.
  • General Surgery: Cholecystectomy, Hernia repair (with mesh), Appendectomy, Hemorrhoidectomy.
  • Other: Breast excision, Abdominal wall repair (synthetic substitute), Skin excision.
  • Emergency: Must respond to traumas in the ED (MVA, falls, GSW, and other acute trauma activations).
Provider Requirements
  • Board Status: Board Certified in General Surgery (Required).
  • Licensure: Active Oregon (OR) State License. (Will consider candidates with license already in process for May/June starts).
  • Certifications: Active ACLS, BLS, and DEA (Required).
  • Experience: Completed Residency/Fellowship.
  • Submission: Self-Query NPDB report (dated within 30 days) is mandatory at presentation.
  • Background: Clean malpractice history is highly preferred.
