Job Summary

As the Lineman, you will ultimately be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. You will perform line construction, maintenance, and emergency restoration activities while supporting daily field operations. Your customers are Congruex project teams, utility clients, and the communities we serve, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through safe work practices, quality craftsmanship, and reliable service delivery.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to)

  • Construct, repair, and maintain aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure, including cable, strand, poles, anchors, and associated hardware.
  • Read and interpret work orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and construction prints to complete assigned work accurately.
  • Operate construction equipment including aerial lifts, hydraulic equipment, compressors, pumps, and related tools.
  • Complete emergency restoration, maintenance, outage response, and system rebuild activities while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Complete daily production reports, As-Built documentation, and maintain accurate project records.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and all applicable customer and regulatory standards.
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.

Required Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • DOT Medical Card required.

Experience

  • Experience in aerial and underground telecommunications line construction or utility construction.
  • Experience operating construction equipment and working in field environments.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of telecommunications construction methods, materials, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and construction documents.
  • Ability to distinguish wire and cable color codes.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Flagger, Competent Person, Confined Space, Pole Climbing, Forklift, and Silica Training certifications.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb poles, ladders, and work at elevated heights for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, confined spaces, and active construction environments.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
