Agri-Valley Communications, Inc. (AVCI) is the parent company of Pigeon Telephone, Thumb Cellular, Agri-Valley Services and the AVS Tech Team. Headquartered in Pigeon, Michigan, our family-owned corporation is focused on providing communication and technology services to rural Michigan communities, including those in the Thumb and Northern regions of the state.
Do you enjoy solving technical problems and helping customers stay connected? If so, AVCI has a current opening for a VoIP Specialist to join our team. The VoIP Specialist is responsible for configuring, provisioning, implementing, and supporting residential and business voice service solutions. This position programs and tests hosted VoIP phone systems, configures customer equipment and features, coordinates number porting activities, and provides technical support to ensure reliable voice communications for AVS customers.
Normal hours of this position are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday although occasional evening or weekend work may be required. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Configuring hosted business phone systems and VoIP services.
- Programming IP phones and customer voice features.
- Coordination of telephone number porting.
- Testing and verification of new system deployments.
- Troubleshooting voice service issues and resolving customer concerns.
- Documenting system configurations and maintaining of accurate records.
- Assisting customers with training and ongoing support.
- Working with technicians during new installations and service upgrades.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel throughout the AVCI service area is required.
Work Environment: Works primarily in an office environment with occasional travel to customer locations and other company facilities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required. Related college degree preferred.
- Experience with VoIP phone systems, telecommunications, networking, or IT.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with hosted PBX, SIP, or Unified Communications platforms is preferred but not required.
- Must have valid Michigan Driver's License and be insurable.
- Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a criminal background check.
