Fastaff Travel Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Birmingham, Alabama.

Facility Details:
*If candidate worked permanently at facility in the past, must wait 6 months before returning
*If Candidate traveled with another agency - must wait 6 months before applying through Fastaff
*RNs will have Continuing Education Modules they are responsible for keeping up on during assignment
-Unable to guarantee a set or blocked schedule, even if it is weekends only. Will not send for consideration.
-Parking: Is signed up for during onboarding (orientation week) โ€“ it is paid by the traveler and ranges from $14 โ€“ $58.34 per month. Travelers are provided the contact information to sign up for their choice based on availability.
-EMR: Epic
-Scrubs: Navy
-Local candidates accepted
Orientation Details:
-FDI will be sent to all travelers by facility, regardless of new/renew/return no later than Fridays before their contract start date.
-Email is titled Welcome to UAB and sometimes goes to the junk/spam folder for whatever reason. Please make sure your talent knows to check those folders as well. It will be sent from or Chasity Winston.
-Client requires all drug screens to be collected 1 week prior to start date. If not, the client will automatically push the candidates start date out a week.
*Orientation week schedule for those who are new or have not been at UAB in 11-12 months will typically be as follows;

  • Candidate's AAL will show a Monday start date but the candidate will not report onsite till Thursday for orientation.
  • Thursday:  pick up ID Badge and Parking Permit, reach out to manager for schedule if you have not received.
  • Friday: 8a-12:30p - Impact Training onsite, Unit Orientation
*Please make sure you use your company time sheet to keep up with hours completing HealthStreams, Impact Training, and Unit Orientation. The modules take between 6-8 hours of time. The computer class is 8 hours. Then you will be set up for two 12 hour unit orientation shifts.
*Please send your first weeksโ€™ time sheet  no later than the 7 am Monday following your first week.

-BLS required
-Previous travel experience required
-MINIMUM 2+ YEARS in MS required
-Pt. population is general m/s but many they say may have DM, CHF, waiting for a SNF, one of the units designated for stroke patients.
-Patients may be remotely monitored on telemetry, but RN not required to be a m/s tele RN.
-Unit: 3 SOUTH
-Ratios; 1:4/5
-RN are expected to care for COVID pts as needed and dictated by census
-Epic experience required 
-every other weekend and some holidays required
-Unable to guarantee a set or blocked schedule, even if it is weekends only. Will not send for consideration.
RNs will be assigned a home unit but may be asked to float. 
Floating expectation: 
These unit-based travelers would be expected to float to like units (if necessary), in rotation with UAB unit specific staff. There is a potential that rotation can be changed to ensure that each unit has an ANM/Charge nurse (shift leader) that is familiar with UAB
