Job description

Summary: Looking for an experienced BDM with proven Travel Industry Sales background and history selling Group Travel or selling directly to Affinity Groups. The ideal candidate would be a BDM who has also sold European River Cruises and/or Small Ship Adventures. Someone who is autonomous and can work a list of prospects. Someone who can work with a growing inside support team to meet goals and understands the demands of traveling, driving, working from the road and visiting clients within the assigned territory.

Required Skills:

  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years in the travel industry, working in a Sales role.
  • Experience working for a Tour Operator, selling group travel.
  • Strengthen relationships and achieve growth with key accounts through regular contact and informative updates.
  • Ability to target and achieve results, set challenging goals and meet deadlines.
  • Ensure that marketing collateral is utilized to ensure company has permanent placement in key account agencies.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Participate in trade and consumer shows/events where beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Tech savvy (experience with Salesforce or other similar CRM tools).
  • Able to develop detailed sales/marketing plans aligned with company goals, manage time and work flow well, and create effective sales call plans.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required, and travel extensively throughout the territory.
