Job description

Project Manager

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a mechanical or industrial construction background who enjoys leading complex projects from kickoff through completion? Do you thrive in fast-paced industrial environments and enjoy balancing field operations, customer relationships, and project execution?

A growing mechanical and industrial services organization in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Project Manager to oversee large-scale industrial and production facility projects. This full-time position offers a salary range of $100,000–$130,000, depending on experience, along with long-term growth opportunity within a stable, team-oriented environment.

This Project Manager role will focus on managing projects ranging from $10K service work up to multi-million-dollar industrial projects, including several projects exceeding $1M–$10M+ in value. The ideal candidate will bring experience working within industrial, manufacturing, production, chemical, or heavy mechanical environments and feel comfortable operating within active facilities.

This is not a role focused on retail or light commercial construction. The team is looking for someone with exposure to more complex industrial operations and mechanical systems who can effectively coordinate field teams, subcontractors, design personnel, and customers.

This role also offers a unique opportunity to work closely with an experienced senior professional who is expected to retire in the coming years, allowing for overlap, knowledge transfer, and long-term leadership growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical and industrial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, manpower, subcontractors, and client communication
  • Coordinate with field leadership, including foremen and sub-foremen, to ensure successful project execution
  • Work closely with internal design/CAD teams and operations personnel
  • Participate in customer meetings, project walkthroughs, and site coordination activities
  • Monitor project progress, financial performance, and overall operational efficiency
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from smaller service work to large industrial installations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within mechanical, industrial, or construction environments
  • Strong background in industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, chemical plants, or production environments preferred
  • Experience managing large-scale projects and multiple project teams simultaneously
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Comfortable working both in-office and in active field environments
  • Ability to manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and customer relationships effectively
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

  • Strong leadership presence and ability to manage teams effectively
  • Comfortable operating in industrial and production environments
  • Organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong customer communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-sufficient and trusted to manage work independently

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $100,000–$130,000, depending on experience
  • Bonus potential
  • Healthcare benefits
  • PTO and paid sick time
  • Stable, long-standing organization with strong industry reputation
  • Family-oriented work environment with minimal micromanagement
  • Long-term leadership growth opportunity

Schedule & Location

  • Full-time position
  • Monday–Friday schedule
  • Typical hours approximately 7:00 AM – 3:30/4:00 PM
  • Combination of office, customer meetings, and project site work
  • Occasional weekend work as projects require, with flexibility provided

The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting that our client would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range.

First time working with a Recruiter? No problem! We make the process as smooth and straightforward as possible. Communication is key – to get started, all we need from you is an updated resume and some time to chat. Our team will get to know you and your future career goals.
