Job description

Job Title: Road Crew Laborer
Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for Road Crew Laborers.
Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:
Have the ability and willingness to dig, spread and level construction materials with a shovel
Work with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner
Varying types of work including: digging, flagging, concrete work, backfill pipe
Basic troubleshooting
Required Skills/Abilities:
Reliable transportation to and from work
Strong work ethic
Physical Organization and time management
Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary including overnights
Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools
CDL License a plus
Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
Consent to a DMV license evaluation
Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 0 pounds
Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Other Preferred Qualities:
Ability to read and understand SDS
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred
Basic math skills
Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.
