How much do weekend therapist jobs pay per week?

As of Jun 16, 2026, the average weekly pay for weekend therapist in the United States is $1,859.52, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $1,596.15 and $2,067.31 per week, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A Weekend Therapist can potentially earn $10,000 a month by providing mental health services on a flexible schedule, often requiring licensure or certification but not necessarily a traditional degree. High hourly rates and a strong client base in private practice or specialized settings contribute to this income level.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Therapist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Therapist, you need a master's degree in counseling, psychology, or social work, along with relevant state licensure. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and evidence-based therapeutic modalities like CBT or DBT is typically required. Strong active listening, empathy, and crisis management skills set outstanding therapists apart in this role. These competencies ensure effective client support, accurate documentation, and the ability to handle urgent situations during limited weekend hours.

What is the 2 year rule for therapists?

The 2 year rule for therapists typically refers to a requirement that therapists must complete at least two years of supervised clinical experience or post-graduate practice before becoming fully licensed or credentialed. This period allows for the development of essential skills, ethical understanding, and professional competence necessary for independent practice.

What are some common challenges Weekend Therapists face, and how can they effectively manage their work-life balance?

Weekend Therapists often encounter challenges related to balancing their professional responsibilities with personal time, as their schedules typically involve working non-traditional hours. They may also face a higher demand for crisis intervention or urgent support, as clients sometimes seek therapy during weekends due to weekday commitments. To manage these challenges, it's important for Weekend Therapists to establish clear boundaries, maintain open communication with their clinical teams, and prioritize self-care routines. Many organizations support weekend staff with flexible scheduling and access to supervision, helping therapists maintain both their well-being and quality of care.

What are weekend therapists?

Weekend therapists are licensed mental health professionals who provide therapy services on weekends, often to accommodate clients who have busy schedules during the typical workweek. They may work in private practices, clinics, hospitals, or remotely through telehealth platforms. Weekend therapists address a variety of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship issues. Their flexible scheduling helps make mental health care more accessible to people who need support outside of traditional business hours.

Do therapists usually work on weekends?

Weekend therapists, such as mental health or clinical therapists, often work on weekends to accommodate clients' schedules, especially in private practice or outpatient settings. However, work hours vary depending on the employer, location, and specific role, with some therapists working weekdays only and others including weekends as part of their schedule.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

High-paying jobs that can reach $2,000 a day often include specialized roles such as experienced therapists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, or senior consultants, typically requiring advanced certifications, extensive experience, and often working in private practice or consulting settings. These positions usually involve high skill levels, significant responsibility, and sometimes irregular or demanding schedules.
