Job description

Description:

ABOUT BLUE PEAK

Blue Peak Tents is one of the largest event tent companies in the Midwest. We design, install, and tear down high-end tent structures for corporate events, estate weddings, festivals, and large-scale productions across Chicagoland and beyond. Our work is fast-paced, physical, and built on a team that takes pride in showing up and doing it right.

THE ROLE

We're hiring Field Crew members to load, install, and tear down commercial event tents and related equipment. This is physical, hands-on outdoor work for people who like working with their hands, take pride in being part of a team, and want a real path to grow. This is the entry point into Blue Peak's field operations and a strong steppingstone toward driver and crew lead positions for the right person.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

· Load and unload trucks at the warehouse and on event sites

· Install, set up, break down, and remove tents, flooring, and related equipment

· Follow the project plan and take direction from your Project Manager

· Operate hand tools and installation equipment safely

· Keep the job site, equipment, and warehouse organized and clean

· Represent Blue Peak professionally with clients at high-end venues

Requirements:

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

· Strong work ethic with drive, energy, and common sense

· Mechanically inclined and comfortable with common hand tools

· Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused

· Comfortable working long shifts in heat, cold, wind, rain, and on uneven terrain

· Strong team player who can take direction and adapt as job site conditions change

PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED)

· Prior event setup, tent installation, construction, landscaping, or general labor experience

· Background in outdoor, physical, or trade-related work

· Familiarity with hand tools, mechanical assembly, or basic rigging

· Previous experience as part of a field crew or installation team

SCHEDULE & TRAVEL

· Seasonal full-time position; shifts start as early as 5:00 AM and can run up to 12 hours

· Flexible availability required: early mornings, weekends, and holidays through peak season

· Crews operate 7 days per week during the busy season

· Overnight travel for some jobs, typically 2 to 4 nights at a time, within roughly an 8-hour radius of Chicago

· Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull 50 to 75 lbs

· Stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and climb for extended periods

· Maintain focus and pace through long shifts in a demanding environment

WHAT WE OFFER

· Competitive hourly pay

· 401(k) with company matching

· Health, dental, and vision insurance

· Life insurance

· Paid time off

· Company-provided uniform

· A real growth path into driver and crew lead roles
