Job description

Position Summary:

The Head Teller will be responsible for all teller functions as well as overseeing the performance of the teller staff to ensure service standards are being maintained. The individual will maintain and monitor the vault position and oversee the supply of necessary documents to conduct business. The Head Teller will be responsible for following bank policy and procedures to ensure the safety and security of employees, customers, and bank assets.

Essential Functions:

  • Will be able to perform all teller functions.
  • Will supervise the teller staff to ensure excellent customer service with an emphasis on confidentiality.
  • Will be proactive in initiating activities to strengthen customer relationships, build a positive community image, foster teamwork, and strengthen employee morale.
  • Will maintain and monitor the total cash position of the branch and ensure it is in compliance with established policies.
  • Will maintain a sufficient supply of necessary documents to conduct financial transactions and ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
  • Will manage staff levels and schedules to ensure efficient teller support for the branch.
  • Will ensure that all teller functions comply with bank policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Will assess customer needs and refer customers to the appropriate product specialist. In addition, will provide coaching to the teller staff to do the same.
  • Will ensure that all operational and administrative tasks are completed within the bank’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Will monitor and observe customer transaction activities to minimize risks and exposure to loss.
  • Will effectively communicate branch and bank objectives with staff members. This includes upward and downward communication as necessary.
  • Will be responsible for individual professional development as well as coaching and developing staff members

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct Supervision: Teller Staff

Indirect Supervision: None

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Will be a proactive participant in marketing, sales campaigns, business development, and relationship building efforts that relate to the assigned location or the bank as a whole
  • Will be responsible for full compliance with all polices, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Will maintain a strict level of confidentiality
  • Will perform various other duties as may be assigned

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Previous Teller Experience Required
