Job description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a CVOR position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Requirements
  • CST certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required
  • Level 1 trauma experience required
  • Preferred experience in General, GU/GYN, Ortho trauma, ortho joints, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, and Endovascular procedures
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Two professional references required
Responsibilities
  • Hospital Operating Room setting within a Cardiac OR (CVOR) unit with 26 beds
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • Weekend rotation of 1:4 with 12-hour shifts
  • On-call requirement includes one overnight trauma call from 11 PM to 7 AM, with additional call scheduled per specialty team rules (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho)
  • Uses Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robot surgical equipment
  • Epic EMR system used for documentation
  • Float policy may require working within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed
  • Teal scrubs are issued by the hospital for dress code compliance
  • Ideal candidates are flexible, accountable, timely, and strong team players
  • Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility may be considered, though at a reduced bill rate
  • Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
  • Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
  • Time off requests should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
  • Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones is prohibited while on the unit
