Job description

Position Summary
The Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach will design, program, implement & monitor the strength and conditioning program for all assigned intercollegiate teams. Under the supervision of the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, the Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach is responsible for the development of sport-specific weight training regimens for all intercollegiate student athletes, including demonstrating proper weight training technique and prescribed exercises. Monitor and demonstrate safe lifting technique and practices. Track and evaluate individual and team attendance & performance with designed strength & conditioning programs. Collaborate with Athletic Training staff and coaches to develop strength & conditioning programs to strengthen overall performance and to prevent injuries. Assist the Athletic Training staff in monitoring rehabilitation programs. Requires a working knowledge of NCAA compliance rules.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree and CSCS Certified by the National Strength & Conditioning Association or SCCC Certification by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree
Required Experience:
1+ years relevant strength and conditioning coach experience on the Collegiate level.
Preferred Experience:
3+ years Experience coaching Olympic lifts. Three or more years as Strength and Conditioning Coach in a intercollegiate athletic program.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Basic working knowledge of the operations of an athletic strength and conditioning program. Knowledge of NCAA rules. Ability to visually monitor athletes.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of NCAA Division III legislation regarding permissible activities by student athletes. Adjust coaching techniques, based on the strengths and weaknesses of athletes and maintain knowledge of best practices in the field. Evaluate athletes' skills and review performance records to determine their fitness and potential in a particular area of athletics.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $72,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
