Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Technical Writer develops, edits, and maintains precise, structured, and standard compliant documentation that supports engineering products, processes, and systems. This role partners with engineers, project managers, quality teams, and subject matter experts to translate complex engineering concepts, designs, and procedures into clear, usable documentation for internal teams, customers, regulators, and field personnel. The Technical Writer ensures all materials are technically accurate, well organized, and aligned with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and quality systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
/ Collaborating with project teams to author work orders, technical specifications, acceptance criteria, process flow charts, and other technical documentation for projects.
/ Collaborating with engineering and procurement in writing vendor specifications for projects in the design phase.
/ Maintaining a standardized instruction manual layout for future projects.
/ Reviewing and maintaining a database of project go-bys for future reference.
/ Responding to customer questions regarding contents of instruction manual.
/ Obtaining and documenting project close out items including final sign off, red lines, VCL, manuals, etc.
/ Assisting in the development of SOP, work instructions, training documents, test procedures, and digitization of documents.
/ Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
/ Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems.
/ Ability to maintain consistent documentation standards.
/ Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
/ Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
/ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
/ Commitment to confidentiality, security, and data integrity.
/ Adaptability in a fast paced, evolving technical environment.
Education and Experience:
/ Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, or related field; or 5 years of experience in supporting engineered equipment.
/ 2 - 5 years of experience in technical writing and documentation.

Physical Demands:
/ The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, hear and talk.

/ The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
/ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and Standard office environment with periodic travel between locations (if applicable).
/ Occasional after-hours or weekend work required for maintenance, upgrades, and issue resolution.
