Job description

Position Title: Spanish Interpreter
Primary Location: Goodview Elementary
Assignment Specifications: 6.5 hours /school day
Group Affiliation/Policy: Non-Affiliated
Classification: B-2-2
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt




Hours:  7:30-2:30

Pay Range:  $20.35-$23.56
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Building Principal and direction of the classroom and EL teacher, the language interpreter translates and/or interprets classroom instruction from English to the native language to reinforce delivered instruction as an accommodation or adaptation. Provide language interpretation between school staff, students, and families as needed. Provides translation of materials as needed. Provides support and reinforcement of classroom instruction in both English and the native language, including our RIOS classroom.
Qualifications: Minimum of high school level academic skills. HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent required. Must have demonstrated skills or experience in supervising student behavior and applying consistent consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behaviors; using basic office equipment; effectively presenting information in 1:1 and/or small group situation to students concerning district/program routines, policies, rules, learning principles, concepts and other lesson plans. Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
