Job Description

Benefits:

Salary:

$25.37/hourly +10% shift premium + Sunday Pay Premium 

Rotating Schedule:

7:45p-8:00am (M/T, F/S |S, W/T)

Summary:
The Slitter Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining slitting machines to process materials according to specifications. This role involves setting up the equipment, monitoring production runs, ensuring quality control, and performing material handling tasks as necessary. The Slitter Operator plays a crucial role in achieving production targets and maintaining product quality.
Essential Functions:

  • Operate slitting machines following standard operating procedures to cut and process materials accurately and efficiently.
  • Set up slitting machines, including blade adjustments, tension control, and material alignment, to ensure proper functioning and production efficiency.
  • Perform regular quality control checks to ensure products meet established standards and specifications. Make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
  • Safely handle and move materials using equipment such as forklifts, hoists, or hand tools to support the production process.
  • Perform routine blade changes, sharpening, and adjustments to ensure optimal cutting performance and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor production runs, inspect finished products, and identify and resolve any issues or abnormalities that may affect product quality or machine performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production counts, downtime, and any quality or machine-related issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance tasks on slitting machines to ensure their optimal performance and longevity.
  • Maintain machine cleanliness and housekeeping in the area by moving scrap material to baler and sweeping and removing dust and debris.
Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Forklift operator’s license. (Training Provided)
Experience:

  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred. 
  • Prior skilled machine operation experience preferred. 
  • Ability to use basic tools and inspection devices such as utility knives, calipers and tape measure.
